Pondering journeys

Tonight I'm sitting on the sofa after a rather lovely weekend, planning a holiday in the New Year. The new plan is to take the train from Beijing to Moscow, or the other way around, stopping off at the Great Wall of China, Gobi desert, Mongolian steppes, and then in to Moscow. Part of me is thrilled at the prospect of great expanses of space, of the constant comforting chug of a train for 7 days and nights, and the snug cupboard that masquerades as a first class cabin. Another part of me wonders if I might get bored. I shall have to keep wondering, as my battery has now run out on the laptop!
