snowboarding... discuss

I went 'boarding last night at Ski Dubai - lesson one after holiday with Hannah et al about six years ago, obviously joined the beginners classes, and actually really enjoyed it. Absolute killer on the legs, seriously painful, but rather addictive in a funny way, and once i got the sense of the turns it was brilliant. Not quite so brilliant when we went up to the mid-station at the end of the lesson and i freaked slightly, but the concentration and determination of learning something physically challenging is so rejuvenating.

Practically skipped out of there (now hobbling however) and went for pizza at Apres with H, who had been a bit more underwhelmed by her lesson/teacher, and was suffering a headache to complement the snow-dazzle that we were both experiencing. Don't really want to sport sunnies indoors, but it was quite disconcerting not being able to see properly after the lesson.

Quite amusing getting a text from F who was apparently watching from one of the restaurants and saw me go arse over tit... obviously this was at the beginning of the lesson before my natural brilliance saw fit to reassert itself.

Popped in to purchase some powder to get rid of bright red glow before we went to Apres and was chatting to the guy in there - apparently the shops are open till 1am during Ramadan. That rocks - can go to the cinema and go shopping afterwards!

No signs of the hideous traffic yet, long may it continue.
